How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I started Simple and Savory back in 2013, only to keep track of recipes. In mid-2015 decided to get more serious about it because I had the time and was having so much fun working on it.
Do you have a secret recipe you aren’t willing to share?
Absolutely not! If I can make it, I want everyone else to give it a try too!
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one food, what would you choose?
I love salads with all kinds of ingredients in them, I could eat them every day all day, but a slice of pizza on the side would be good too.
How did you come up with your blog’s name?
I wanted a name that was in line with my cooking philosophy easy, natural ingredients, and good for you. Simple and Savory seemed to fit because most of my recipes are simple to make and savory tasting, with a little bit of naturally sweet recipes in the mix.
What are you passionate about besides food?
My family — My husband Bob and my grown children Eric and his soon to be wife Hillary, my daughter Kristin – and of course my dog Morgan who is affectionately known as my Food Lab. I also enjoy being outside, especially in the warm weather, and reading.
What is your favorite food to make?
Grilled Burgers made with Grass Fed Beef — Even though they are lean, they are juicy, believe it or not. I like to pile on the toppings, a little bit of cheese, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, hot peppers, pickles and anything else I can think of.
What is your favorite thing to order when you are out to eat?
I usually order seafood Since I don’t go out to eat that often, I like to order it in a way that I would not normally prepare it – fried, sushi or with some kind of interesting sauce
Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
Michele at Mid -Life Healthy Living – has been very helpful answering all of blogging my questions over the past year.
What are some of your favorite recipes on your blog?
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I enjoy learning new things, and as a food blogger, there is a lot to learn! And I love all of the amazing people that I have met both virtually or in person. Bloggers are very friendly and supportive.
