How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I originally started blogging as a way to record my recipes for family and friends. About a year ago, I decided it was time to finally take this little dream of sharing my love for food, family traditions and a little southern hospitality and create Soulfully Made.
Do you have a secret recipe you aren’t willing to share?
Never, I believe food (or recipes) are an expression of love and bring people together. Many memories are made around a meal and they are meant to be shared!
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one food, what would you choose?
Cheese – Mac n Cheese, Queso, Cheese and Crackers. Just all kinds of cheese please! ;)
How did you come up with your blog’s name?
It was important that my blog be a reflection of my faith and my belief that food is made with love and come from within the “soul”!
What are you passionate about besides food?
Hands down my family -I am married to my high school sweetheart, I have two amazing kids and I am so blessed to live near my family. They are all my world!
Entertaining because I just love being surrounded by family and friends. From the preparing of the meal (oops that’s food), to the decorating and adding special touches to make it memorable, whatever the occasion.
Oh and I am a little bit of a “farmhouse” junkie! Second to food blogging, I am pretty sure I could spend my days pinning, shopping and decorating my home or maybe yours too!
What is your favorite food to make?
Lasagna – it’s all about that sauce. Oh and baking – I LOVE to bake!
What is your favorite thing to order when you are out to eat?
A juicy Ribeye Steak (I just drool thinking about it) or if the restaurant has a specialty dish I like to try that too! I love to try new things! Oh I cannot forget Sushi, because it is something I have not ventured into trying at home yet!
Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
This is a hard one because there are so many that I have followed for years, respected and cooked so many of their dishes. But I have been especially blessed some of the most amazing, supportive women who have shared so much about the blogging world. They are truly each amazingly creative, dish out delicious food, but more importantly have become my dearest friends. Norine’s Nest, Served Up with Love, Julia’s Simply Southern, Cooking with K, A Southern Discourse, and The Speedy Spatula!
What are some of your favorite recipes on your blog?
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
The fact that I get to cook and share the food with the ones I love in person and online. I love to hear from and connect with readers. If they cook something from the blog and share with me, I am over the moon happy! And the friendships I have made with other bloggers! Also the relationships I have made with other bloggers. Some I have been able to meet in person and other have built this amazing community in the blogosphere world! They are so genuine and supportive and just all around amazing people.
