How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I have been blogging for just over a year. I started my food blog because I really love how healthy food has had such an impact on my wellbeing, and I wanted to share my recipes with others in the hopes that they too will benefit from an overall healthy lifestyle.
Do you have a secret recipe you aren’t willing to share?
I actually do have a couple of AH-mazing recipes that I have been making for years and have not yet shared on the blog, I’m sure I will share them at some point!
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one food, what would you choose?
Avocados
How did you come up with your blog’s name?
I have always adored berries, and sweet treats, and healthy lifestyle is pretty sweet, so Berry Sweet Life just seemed to fit!
What are you passionate about besides food?
I love yoga, barre classes, any kind of travel, and the beach which I’m lucky enough to have on my doorstep.
What is your favorite food to make?
I absolutely love baking and making desserts, it’s what got me interested in cooking in my teens… And now I love creating healthy options, unless it’s a special occasion, then I go all out.
What is your favorite thing to order when you are out to eat?
On the weekends I like to indulge a little, and at the moment, I am loving pizza, I think about it all week!
Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
Pinch of Yum was the first food blog I stumbled across and I still love it. I enjoy the health and fitness tips on Simply Taralynn, and I like the more South African fare that Sarah Graham shares on her blog.
What are some of your favorite recipes on your blog?
I often make my 5 Minute Spinach Apple Smoothie, it’s quick, packed with goodness and completely YUM. I recently posted this Mustard Chicken Quinoa Red Pepper Casserole which is easy to make and the flavours are to die for. I’m always looking for ways to eat more greens, and this Kale Apple Cranberry Salad With Sesame Dressing is amazing. And for special occasions – my Chocolate Chip Raspberry Coffee Cake is unbelievably delicious, everyone adores it!
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Thinking up new recipes, and making the food. It’s all about the food for me, how delicious it looks, tastes, and how full of healthy goodness it is.
Great interview! I can’t wait to check out your food blog!!! xoxo
Seems like Sal and I have some things in common – most notably thinking about pizza all week long lol! Her recipes (and she) sound amazing – checking her blog out now!
What a lovely idea. It’s ways nice to learn a bit about other bloggers.
It’s always fun to meet new folks in the food blogging community. And I agree on avocados!
I always enjoy learning about other bloggers. This sounds like a great monthly feature! I’m looking forward to checking out Sal’s blog. I’m totally in agreement that avocados would be necessary if stranded on a desert island!
