FOOD BLOGGER SPOTLIGHT: MEET LAURA & SARAH - THE WANDERCOOKS
Laura & Sarah – The Wandercooks

Behind the Blogger Spotlight: The Wandercooks.  These best friends and life partners, who hail from Adelaide, Australia are living a life that most of us only dream of:  Traveling the world, eating up the culture and food while learning new cooking techniques!  They recently finished an eCookBook highlighting the food and culture of Viet Nam and offer it to you today for free – just click on the link below and you’ll be taken to their website where you can download the book.  I can tell you that we got the eBook a few weeks ago and have tried several of the recipes – we know you’ll love them as much as we do especially the Bahn Xeo, my personal fave!

ALL OF THE WANDERCOOKS ON YUM GOGGLE!

1. How long have you been blogging?

Wandercooks began on New Year’s Day 2015; so we’re just over a year old!

2. Why do you blog?

For the love of foodsharing! We want others to enjoy the experiences surrounding food as much as we do. We’ve always loved cooking together and experimenting with new flavors.  It’s usually so much easier than you first expect. So we want to help people overcome their inhibitions and try new cuisines from around the world.

3. How did you come up with the name of your blog?

The name Wandercooks comes from two parts:

‘Wander’ – to wander is to roam aimlessly with no specific destination in mind. We believe this allows you to find the unexpected, be surprised and discover things you never thought possible.

‘Cooks’ – well, that’s an obvious one ;) we love to create delicious dishes whenever we can.

So, together we aim to cook the unexpected!

4. What do you wish that you had done early on with your blog that you didn’t understand until later?

Get engaged with our audience and other bloggers. It’s so rewarding to share your passion with others and hear their stories and learn along with them. And it’s fun!

5. Do you have any advice for new bloggers?

Focus. Research. Network. These are three key things that will help you so much. It’s an ongoing practice in this fast paced industry, but it will be so rewarding.

6. What is your favorite recipe on your blog and why?

Just one? Noooooooo.

Most, if not all, of our recipes have been discovered through a foodsharing experience whether at home or overseas. Each holds its own story and is special to us in its own way.

But if you reeeally want us make us to choose… Our current favorite is our recipe for Three Friends Spring Onion Rolls. I mean come on – Paperless Spring Rolls!? Crazy delicious stuff, and insanely addictive! XD

7. Name a few of your favorite blogs

The Healthy Maven, Two Loves Studio, Two Red Bowls, Pinch of Yum and heneedsfood are all fabulously talented guys that we LOVE following along.

8. If you were a fruit or vegetable, which would it be and why?

Laura would be a turnip (Last name is Turner… turnip… get it? Haha)

Sarah would be a swede, dignified and refined. Kidding. She’d be a banana so she could apply to be in the next edition of Mario Kart.

9. Favorite band or singer?

Rufus Du Sol

10. Favorite movie?

Oooooh, that’s a tough one. From Tarantino to Miyazaki, our favorites change almost daily!

11. Anything else you would like to share about your blog

We just released our first eCookbook! It’s called Vietnam: Discover. Cook. Eat and we’re so excited to share this freebie with our readers. Make sure to pop over, grab your copy and stop to say hello – we love to chat!
